Happy Solstice!MLC's annual Solstice Celebration was the brainchild of Margie Einhorn Holland and first performed in 1983. "Margie involved MLC students and teachers in a solstice celebration of gospel music, Latin music and dance, lighting Hanukkah menorah candles and also a Lucia bride's crown of candles," recalls Margie's husband and longtime MLC teacher, Lewis Holland. It was a way to bring together "the ways in which people from different cultures bring light into dark winter days." For the past 37 years, MLC students from every age group have performed in our school's solstice celebration, and this year is no different!
