The MLC Educational Foundation has its own site here: MLCEF.org
What is the MLCEF? The MLCEF raises money specifically to support current (and additional) teaching and staff positions. The money is spent at the discretion of our principal. How much should I give? In order to maximize staffing, we have a goal of $300 per MLC student this school year. This amount is similar to what is asked of parents by other PPS school foundations and is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the the law.
Option 1: Monthly donation of $25 per month for 12 months. Click here to sign up for monthly giving. Option 2: One-time $300 donation. Click here to make a one-time donation.
Please give as much as you can. Every dollar truly helps and does make a difference. We need support from every MLC family to ensure that our children continue to get the rich and diverse education they deserve. If you cannot contribute financially, consider contributing your time and talents towards building and supporting MLC. For more information, please contact us!
Our foundation (along with every other Portland Public school foundation) also contributes to the PPS Equity Fund. The PPS Equity gives grants to help support less fortunate schools. For any amount over $10,000 that a PPS Foundation raises, the PPS Equity fund receives 33%.
Don 't forget to ask your employer to match your contribution!
MLC PTSA’s mission is to develop community and ensure that any opportunity available through MLC is available to any student, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. We are stewards of these fundraising dollars and will spend them in a way that benefits the greatest number of students.
